Duo Ebano | Dear Franz New Album

Dear Franz is a letter written by Duo Ebano and ideally addressed to Franz Schubert. It is a personal tribute from the duo, an intimate and affectionate remembrance of the composer's work and his figure, which emphasizes the need to highlight how deeply relevant his music still is today.

Franz Schubert never wrote for clarinet and piano, yet thanks to the exquisite transcription and arrangement work of Paolo Gorini and the sound research on piano, keyboards, and electronics, together with Marco Danesi on clarinets and duduk, a soundscape emerges that is the result of the musicians' reflection and careful research.

Duo Ebano celebrated ten years of artistic partnership with the release on March 27, 2026, of their new album Dear Franz, entirely dedicated to the composer Franz Schubert, with the 7 Mountains Record label. The album will be presented at Spazio Splendor Amsterdam on March 31, 2026. The concert celebrates not only the tenth anniversary of the founding of Duo Ebano, but also a new beginning that offers a contemporary reinterpretation of some of Schubert's immortal works.
Last but not least, the precious participation of the soprano Elisabeth Etherington, who regularly performs in a duo with Paolo Gorini, with the piece for soprano, clarinet and piano “Der hirt auf dem felsen”.

Dear Franz, a letter and a record, a concert and a tribute to Schubert. There are countless themes in evidence, one in particular: the theme of wandering.
Just as the figure of the Wanderer is central to Schubert's poetics, so the musicians of Duo Ebano represent it and invite the audience to experience it with them.
