NEMA Ensemble

Biography
The NEMA Ensemble (Napoli Ensemble Musiche Attuali) was founded as a musical collective and creative workshop, with the aim of exploring new expressive possibilities in contemporary music. Composed of flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano, with a conductor, the ensemble moves between chamber rigor and experimental tension, proposing projects with attention to every detail that integrate contemporary repertoire and new commissions.
Among the most significant productions:
ReMozart, a dialogue between Mozart's poetics and the writings of young composers, presented at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and at the Fondazione Pietà de' Turchini.
BachBjörk, which brings together the Baroque world and the experimental pop universe of the Icelandic singer-songwriter, with premières and original arrangements;
Resonant Bends, which combines masterpieces of Spectralism with previously unreleased pieces, in an exploration of the tensive and perceptive possibilities of sound.
NEMA stands out for its strong curatorial identity and its commitment to “contemporary creativity”: each project is conceived as a complete experience, combining performance, aesthetic reflection and relationship with the audience. The ensemble is also a place for performers and composers to meet and exchange ideas, and is open to collaborations with visual artists and interactive technologies. Conceived as a fluid space, capable of crossing genres without losing coherence, NEMA today represents one of the most original emerging experiences in the panorama of new music in Italy.
NEMA Ensemble members are Leonardo Ricci Violin, Davide M. Viola Cello, Andrea Riccio Piano, Vincenzo Gaudino Flute, Francesco Filisdeo Clarinet, and Cosimo Abbate Conductor.
